Privacy
What we collect through this website, why, and how to get rid of it.
Who we are
Rookesbury Forward is a content and editorial consultancy based in the United Kingdom. This notice covers personal data collected through rookesburyforward.com.
For anything to do with your data, email hello@rookesburyforward.com.
When you make an enquiry
If you fill in the form on our contact page we collect the name, email address and message you give us. We use them to reply, and to carry on the conversation if we end up working together. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — you asked us to get in touch, and a reply is what you would expect.
Submissions are handled by Netlify, who host this site, and stored on their servers. We keep enquiries for two years after our last exchange, then delete them.
Analytics
If you accept the cookie notice we use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and how people find the site. It tells us a page was viewed. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to advertise to you.
Nothing is sent to Google unless you accept. Decline and no analytics cookie is set, and nothing leaves your browser. The lawful basis is consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies
We set one cookie of our own: a note of whether you accepted or declined analytics, so you are not asked again on every page. It stays in your browser and is sent nowhere.
If you accept analytics, Google sets two more — _ga and _ga_J7VLM5LBZP. Both last up to two years by default, though most browsers shorten that in practice. They tell one visitor apart from another and keep track of a single visit.
To withdraw consent, clear this site’s cookies and site data in your browser. The notice will reappear on your next visit and you can choose Decline.
How long analytics data is kept
Google Analytics is set to delete user-level data after two months. Aggregate reporting — page view totals and the like — is kept beyond that.
Who else handles your data
Netlify, for hosting and form submissions, and Google, for analytics. Both are United States companies, so data is transferred outside the UK under the transfer frameworks that permit it.
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone else.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@rookesburyforward.com and we will respond within a month.
If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
